Women's Retreat, June 23-26, 2011

Here is a listing of the problems that we encountered:

1. A/C in main house (throughout) was not working - the kitchen was a sauna!
We complained immediately and was told that help was on the way. This was on Thursday afternoon. It was SATURDAY NIGHT before they finally brought temporary cooling units to the house.
2. roaches in main house master bath
3. blown breaker in main house master bath on last morning
4. natural gas smell in guest house
5. slippery bath tub in guest house
6. no place for daily trash dump
7. poor water presser/clogged shower head in guest house
8. sliding door in guest house increasingly hard to open/close throughout the weekend
9. outside plugs at guest house don't work
10. the main gate was more like a revolving door that never closed - constant traffic and it was never closed between cars. It was a little unnerving for a group of women to be that far removed from town and not have the security of having the gate closed at all times.
11 .Mold in bathtub in the main house.
12. Advertised CAVES were actually just small holes in the ground - inaccessible.
13. River access is more than 1 mile from the main house and almost inaccessible by vehicle b/c of the road conditions.
14. Washer/dryer are OUTSIDE in the garage (100 feet from the main house) and are in serious need of REPLACEMENT!

Because of the numerous problems our group encountered, the property manager offered us a FREE return trip - all we had to pay was the cleaning fee ($250). We gladly accepted and determined that October 20-24, 2011 would be perfect. I repeatedly asked for a new contract for the return dates and was told over and over again that it was in the works, but no to worry because we were on the calendar. On October 04, 2011, I received an email from the property manager indicating that we would need to reschedule because her brother-in-law had already promised the ranch to another group. I believe that a PAYING customer took our weekend, and although I understand the concept of making a living, I don't believe that you renig on a deal in the process. We are confident that the property manager will always have a better deal on the table and therefore we'll never see our FREE weekend.
