On Friday, May 14, 2010, the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce together with the chambers of commerce in Fredericksburg, Comfort and Boerne as well as Workforce Solutions Alamo will be hosting the Texas Hill Country Regional Employment & Training Expo at the Y.O. Resort Hotel & Conference Center, 2033 Sidney Baker from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

With over 3,000 people in the area currently unemployed, you'll have the opportunity to talk with job seekers who are actively looking to go to work. Please consider setting up your company display and sending your human resources team to be a part of this expo. We have purposely kept the costs under control, so you can maximize your time spent.

Fredericksburg Salutes Our Wounded Warriors
On Saturday, May 15, the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club, the Nimitz Museum, Rockbox Theater, and a number of local restaurants will host wounded service personnel and their families for a day of rest and relaxation in the Hill Country. The honorees will be bussed to Fredericksburg from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Ft. The May 15th event, called Wounded Warriors, reaches out to the military men and women currently residing at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, a premier facility for military medical procedures.

Arriving by bus mid-morning, the servicemen and women and their families are greeted upon arrival at the MarketPlatz in Fredericksburg by a crowd of patriotic supporters. Following lunch and shopping along Main Street, the group will attend the Saturday 4:30 matinee at Rockbox Theater.

Regarding their attendance, Wendy Hearn at Rockbox Theater says, "Our resident cast ends every show with a thank-you to the American hero; and, we will be honored by the presence of these young warriors and their families."
