Fredericksburg Salutes Our Wounded Warriors
On Saturday, May 15, the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club, the Nimitz Museum, Rockbox Theater, and a number of local restaurants will host wounded service personnel and their families for a day of rest and relaxation in the Hill Country. The honorees will be bussed to Fredericksburg from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Ft. Hood in Killeen, and Audie Murphy in San Antonio for a day of shopping, dining, and a show at Rockbox Theater.

The May 15th event, called Wounded Warriors, reaches out to the military men and women currently residing at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, a premier facility for military medical procedures.

Arriving by bus mid-morning, the servicemen and women and their families are greeted upon arrival at the MarketPlatz in Fredericksburg by a crowd of patriotic supporters. Following lunch and shopping along Main Street, the group will attend the Saturday 4:30 matinee at Rockbox Theater.

Regarding their attendance, Wendy Hearn at Rockbox Theater says, "Our resident cast ends every show with a thank-you to the American hero; and, we will be honored by the presence of these young warriors and their families."

Salute our Wounded Warriors!

On Saturday, May 15, 2010, Fredericksburg will be hosting two busloads of Wounded Warriors from Brooks Army Medical Center (BAMC) San Antonio and Ft. Hood for the day. This has been arranged by “Fredericksburg Salutes Our Wounded Warriors” (FSOWW) www.fsoww.org

These Wounded Warriors, about 120 Service Men and Women and their families, will be provided transportation, lunch, side trips,
Rock Box tickets and a catered box dinner for the trip home all at no expense to them. This has been made available by the generous contributions of scores of local citizens.

The busses will be arriving at Market Square at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 15th.

This is a great opportunity to express our appreciation to members of our Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice for us.

We invite all those in our area to be there on the square to meet these Wounded Warriors and their families.

Feel free to bring tasteful & appropriate signs that express your appreciation for their service.
